It is with much regret that we must announce the ending of the Surrey Dowsers

On Wednesday, Nov. 24th, we will be holding our last official meeting of Surrey Dowsers. The speaker is Gaynor Davenport, and she will be speaking on horse and other animal communication, and we hope that many you can make this final meeting

For a number of reasons, Surrey Dowsers has struggled this year to maintain a consistent, competitive programme with reliable speakers and support, and the committee has therefore regrettably now decided that the society is to fold.  The meeting on Wednesday 24th with will therefore be the final meeting and the library books, pendulums  etc will be on sale at greatly reduced prices.   Any surplus funds remaining in the bank will be donated to the Village Water and Water for Life charities.

However, on a positive note, Surrey Dowsers has benefited from the support of a loyal following over the years and developed a good community spirit and lasting friendships.  We would therefore like to continue on a more informal, practical, ad-hoc  basis, focusing much more on dowsing and less on the range of alternative interests which are covered by other groups in the area.   Under the heading of “Dowsing Friends” we are thinking to run dowsing workshops, arrange trips to local sites of (energy) interest, maybe join other groups on guided visits to sacred sites further afield. Currently under consideration are a visit to a first world war experience at Bisley Pavilion, a dowsing workshop day and several visits to local energy sites such as Waverley Abbey. Do please give us your ideas for events, places to visit, venues for workshops etc.

We hope the new arrangement will encourage everyone to get involved (without the commitment of committees, regular hall bookings, speaker bookings, membership admin. and  other unpopular tasks!)

In the meantime, you may wish to visit other dowsing groups in the area  i.e:
